Renowned actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has been honored with the prestigious Champions of Change award, recognizing his exceptional contributions to humanitarian efforts. Widely acclaimed for his selfless initiatives, particularly during the pandemic, Sood has consistently demonstrated a steadfast commitment to societal welfare, earning numerous accolades in the process. 

Serving as a true Samaritan, he has extended assistance to the underprivileged through his charitable organization, ‘The Sood Foundation.’ His support encompasses initiatives in education, aiding the economically disadvantaged in promoting their businesses, and embarking on the realization of his passion project—a senior citizens’ old age home.

The Champions of Change accolade further underscores Sood’s capacity to drive positive transformation and signifies his noteworthy dedication to social responsibility. Expressing his gratitude on Instagram, the actor shared images from the ceremony, stating, “Humbled and honored to receive the Champions of Change Award Maharashtra.” The award was to be conferred by the Hon’ble 37th Chief Justice of India, Justice K G Balakrishnan, and Hon’ble Justice Gyan Sudha Misra (Former Judge Supreme Court of India). 

Sood emphasized his eagerness to continue contributing to societal betterment and the Indian film industry, thanking Shri Nandan Jha, Chairman of the Champions of Change Award committee, for recognizing the efforts of individuals striving for positive change.

In addition to his philanthropic endeavors, Sonu Sood has recently completed his directorial debut, “Fateh,” a cybercrime thriller in which he takes on the lead role. Jacqueline Fernandez co-stars as the female lead in the film produced by Sood’s banner, Shakti Sagar Productions, and co-produced by Zee Studios.
