Emraan Hashmi is famous for his romantic characters in films like Jannat 2, Awarapan, Tum Mile and many more. He is now taking up several roles other than romantic.
He will soon play the role of retired IAF officer KC Kuruvilla in his next film. Director Vijay Ratnakar is all set to frame the life of Air Commodore KC Kuruvilla on the silver screen. Emraan Hashmi has been roped for the role.

The film will show the journey of KC Kuruvilla from 1971 Indo Pak War to 1999 Indo-Pak Kargil war.
Talking about the film Director Vijay Ratnakar said that Emraan loves his character in the movie and he instantly nodded for the film.
Filmmakers are also planning to shoot at real airbase along with fighter planes to present the story correctly and realistic.
Vijay Ratnakar said that they wrote a letter to Government of India for seeking permission to shoot at the real airbase. They are hoping that authorities will allow soon for the shoot.
“Vayusena” is based on the life of retired army officer KC Kuruvilla who was a flying officer at the age of 26 in 1971. During the 1971 Indo-Pak war, He carried out two back to back strikes missions over Chander airfield and Chishtian Mandi on 4th December and 5th December respectively. On 6th December 1971, during the air strike mission over Dera Baba Nanak, his aircraft was crashed after getting hit by enemy’s anti-aircraft fire. He survived in the crash and awarded with Vir Chakra in 1973.
The film also showcases his journey from this point to Kargil war when he was still in service.
The shooting of the film will start in November and complete it start to finish schedule.
Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi has a lot of projects lined up in his kitty. He has recently wrapped up the shooting of Rumi Jaffrey’s Chehre along with Amitabh Bachchan. He will also share the screen with John Abraham in gangster flick “Mumbai Saga” directed by Sanjay Gupta.
