After doing the role of Army officer in Raazi and Uri: The surgical strike, Vicky Kaushal is once again gearing up for the role of Army Officer in his next project.

Director Meghna Gulzar is making a film on the life of first Indian Field Marshal “ Sam Manekshaw” which features Vicky Kaushal as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

Sam Manekshaw was the first Indian Army Officer who was promoted to the rank of  Field Marshal. He was the chief of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Popularly known as Sam Bahadur, Sam Manekshaw shared a great relationship with then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. At the age of 94, he passed away on 27th June 2008.

Meghna Gulzar announced the making of the film in 2017. She said that her film is not a biopic. She is making a film on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

Meghna shared the first look of Vicky Kaushal in the film captioned “It is my honor to tell the story of one of India’s greatest War heroes.

The title of the film has not been finalized yet.

Vicky Kaushal also shared his exictment for the film. 

The film will be the second collaboration of Vicky Kaushal with Meghna Gulzar. They were worked together in spy thriller Raazi last year.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal has a lot of projects in his kitty. He is currently working for the Horror comedy movie “Bhoot” along with Bhumi Pednekar which is produced by Karan Johar. He will also play the role of Sardar Udham Singh in his biopic.
