Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital arm of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is gearing up to launch the cinematic year with the debut of Sara Ali Khan’s Ae Watan Mere Watan. According to recent reports, this much-anticipated period drama is set to premiere in March, coinciding with the Holi weekend. Sources suggest that the film will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from March 22, as per information from PeepingMoon.

For those unfamiliar with the project, Ae Watan Mere Watan is based on a true story, unfolding the compelling narrative of Usha Mehta, a young girl who played a pivotal role in India’s fight for independence. Sara Ali Khan takes on the lead role, marking her entry into the biographical genre. Directed by Kannan Iyer and written by Darab Farooqui, the film boasts a stellar cast, including Sparsh Srivastava, Anand Tiwari, Benedict Garrett, Alexx O’Nell, and Abhay Verma.

The report also reveals a strategic move by the makers, who plan to unveil the much-anticipated trailer on International Women’s Day, March 8. It’s noteworthy that Ae Watan Mere Watan is just the first of five projects slated for release by Dharmatic Entertainment in 2024. Alongside this biographical drama, the studio has an impressive lineup, featuring three new web series and the third season of the popular Netflix show, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.

However, an official announcement regarding these projects is still pending.
