Zaira Wasim made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with Amir Khan’s starrer Dangal which is the highest grossing Bollywood movie worldwide. In her debut movie, Zaira Wasim played the role of wrestler Geeta Phogat who is the first Indian Gold medalist in Commonwealth Games. Dangal is highly praised by the viewers. Though 3 years passed, the movie is still everyone’s favorite. Zaira won everyone’s heart which her acting skills in the movie.

On Sunday, 30th June, she wrote a heartfelt note on her Facebook page, On a very surprising move she declares that she is quitting from Bollywood. On her Facebook page, she shared that she has completed 5 years in Bollywood and she calls it a quit. She was not happy with the line of work as it interferes with her faith and religion.
In a detailed post, 18 years old Kashmiri girl said that “Though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here”. She later shared the post on all her social media account.
For her outstanding performance in the movie, she won many awards including Film Fare Award, National Film Award and National child award for exceptional achievements in 2017 by the president of India Ram Nath Kovind in 2017.
Zaira also played a lead role in Secret Superstar in 2017 where she again proved her acting skills.
She is also a part of “Sky is Pink” along with Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akthar. The “ Sky is Pink” is a biographical film” which will release on 11 Oct 2019.
