“Aaj meri pagdi bhi Kesari, jo bahega mera lahu bhi Kesari aur merajawaab bhi kesari.”

Based on the true story of one of the bravest battles ever fought in the history of India, KESARI is about the Battle of Saragarhi. In the NWFP (North Western Frontier Province), Fort Saragarhi is a small communication post. It was used to relay messages between the two main military forts namely Gulistan and Lockhardt. It is set around the year 1897. When the British Empire had conquered most of India and was then trying to infiltrate Afghanistan.

It is nothing short of a matter of pride to be posted at Saragarhi for the Sikh regiment that was newly reformed. The Sikhs symbolize pride and valor, as marked in the color KESARI (Saffron). We are always ready to sacrifice their lives in the service of the country.
