One of the most awaited movie Kalank hits the theatre on 17th April. It is one of the big release of this year, made on a budget of around 80 Crores. Dharma production Kalank has recorded the best opening day of the year 2019. Kalank reaches box office collection of 21-22 crores on day one.
As per early estimates of movie experts, the film with its grand sets and big Bollywood names has managed to cross the Rs 20 crore mark on Day 1 at the Box Office.
A film starring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Alia Bhatt. With the record opening day of 2019 till now, the movie is also the highest opening day for Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan ever.
Kalank releases in around 4,000 screens in India and 1,300 screens overseas. In overseas also, kalank has made the record opening in day one. Kalank has an estimated figure of 141,000 GBP by beating Padmavat and Dangal in UK. Australia too has taken the best opening of 2019 with 128,000 AUD.

It is estimated that the box office collection of Kalank will be benefitted by the holiday of Good Friday followed by the weekend.
On the first day, Kalank get mixed reviews from the viewers from negative to average. With the record opening of the first-day release, it will be interesting to see that if the film will match the performance of other big hits of 2019. The hits include Total Dhamaal, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Gully Boy, and Kesari.

Ongoing IPL, which is now reached in it’s mid-stage may affect Kalank’s box office collections. However, the other movies released during the IPL season is not affected so far. Kesari and Luka Chuppi, the two big hits of 2019 continued to hold well even during IPL.
It is estimated that Kalank is all set to earn enough from the extended weekend (April 17) till April 25. Though the film will face a tough competition with Hollywood’s one of the biggest releases of the year, Avengers: Endgame. Avengers is expected to open big in India and will ultimately impact Kalank at the box office.
